Defect Lab Members Visit Maryvale High School 2017
Teachers from Maryvale High School in Phoenix asked students working in science and engineering to give a presentation on their work and how they decided on their career paths. Defect lab members Sebastian, Pablo, Genevieve, and Jake were there to talk to the high school freshmen about their research in solar energy and life as a graduate student.
DiscoverE Day – Engineering Open House 2016
ASU’s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering hosts thousands of 3rd- 8th grade students and their teachers at ASU’s Tempe and Polytechnic campuses. Students engage in hands-on engineering design activities and explore various types of engineering at the expo hosted by engineering students and faculty.
International Week 2015
On September 23-24, 2015, QESST faculty and scholars taught 21 architectural undergraduate students and 2 faculty members from Tecnologico de Monterrey how to design their own photovoltaic module. The visiting undergraduates worked with QESST Scholars during the two-day workshop, which was hosted by the Solar Power Lab in the ASU Research Park (Tempe, Arizona).
Fulton Grand Challenge Scholars Program 2015
The Fulton Grand Challenge Scholars Program at ASU combines innovative curriculum and cutting-edge research experiences into an intellectual fusion that spans academic disciplines and includes entrepreneurial, global and service learning opportunities.
Students have the opportunity to engage in research relating to their selected grand challenge, explore interdisciplinary coursework, gain an international perspective, engage in entrepreneurship, and give back to the community through service learning.

Superbowl 2015
QESST joined ASU in presenting its solar energy research at the Verizon Super Bowl Central. This family-friendly event took place on January 28 – February 1, 2015, in downtown Phoenix where the 2015 Superbowl was taking place. The event attracted thousands of fans who had the chance to enjoy and learn all the advantages of solar energy.
Homecoming 2014
Homecoming brings together students, parents and alumni to celebrate their Sun Devil spirit. The weeklong festivities showcase the Sun Devil spirit through athletic events, fun on- and off-campus activities, and entertainment.
