Solar simulator and I-V setup

IVThe solar simulator available in the DefectLab is a Newport 92193A-1000 simulator using Xe lamps source with a highly collimated, very uniform output beam for full size solar cells measurements. It is used for the electrical characterization of photovoltaic devices in combination with a Keithley 2440 sourcemeter and custom-made Labview software. Electrical parameters such as short circuit current (ISC), open circuit voltage (VOC), maximum power and conversion efficiency are extracted by measuring current at different bias voltages  (I-V) while the device is illuminated by a lamp corresponding to 1 sun (100mW/cm2) and AM1.5 spectrum. The technique is non-destructive and rapid.
